Three areas to help jump start your life.
You are probably saying to yourself “not another self help article!” or “I hope this time I can stick to the program”. All too often I hear people say how much they really love self-help books and seminars yet after the last page or a week has past they no longer enjoy the program. There is an all too common breakdown MOTIVATION!!!! Why the excitement during and not after? It’s like a football game; in the beginning you have your thoughts on who’s going to win the game, in the middle it’s crunch time. You have cheerleaders chanting, crowds yelling in support of their team and no matter how cold it is adrenaline kicks in and the sweat takes over. You’re on top of the world! Here comes the end, if your team wins, after party, if they lose, go home and sulk. Either way the next day brings reality of work, school, children, and obligations. The cheerleaders are gone the team has moved on and the crowd has dispersed. The thought of reaching your potential and owning your life is exciting and challenging yet when your team has left; encouragement goes too. I will let you in on a secret; encouragement never leaves it merely disguises itself. It is your privilege to see it in all its forms and accept it. With that said I am here to guide you, encourage you, and honor your path.
Who Am I?
Who am I? The most asked question that is rarely talked about. Most people ask that when they have hit a “breaking point”. I like to think of these moments as breakthroughs. We tend to be most insightful when we feel we have nothing left to give and just need a break. At that moment the “AHA” appears; as if the gates have opened and we received a golden invitation. To answer this question, simply think about your daily routine. Keep a journal for at least one week jotting down daily activities then at the weeks end review and write down who you were at each task. For example your log may say 9am dropped the kids off at school, so for that you are a mother/father. Another entry may say 10am went to the post office then to the grocery store, you are an assistant, then noon, wrote in my journal, you are an author. The list can go on depending on your roles. Don’t be surprised if this question has many answers!
What Am I Meant To Do?
Discover your passion…discover your career. Many of us live to work; we go through our lives in a job that provides only monetary rewards, don’t get me wrong we need money to survive, however this is much more. Discovering your passion allows you to get paid doing what you love. When you work from a place of love and dedication you create your masterpiece that many are more than willing to pay for. People see through your work to your heart and that’s what engages them. As you work with passion the universe will more than compensate you. The old saying “ask and you shall receive” is truly remarkable. To discover your passion think of times when you have done something that you truly enjoyed and that made you feel complete or accomplished. Remember the feelings that came along with that task. Don’t just think of jobs you have preformed, open the box and think of activities or events, even day to day activities. Then ask yourself “is this something I would do without being paid and still feel rewarded?” If the answer is yes congratulate yourself then turn to your creative side and start your career path; if the answer is no continue to brainstorm until you get your yes.
Disorganized Environment Creates A Disorganized Mind…
You’re sitting in your home and in need of starting your many projects you have been procrastinating on so you decide what better time than now. You go to get a pen and paper to jot down project notes and you look on the kitchen table under the newspaper, purse, and the little extra work you had to bring home from work, not there. Ok, next place to look in the office. First glance you don’t see any around so you pick up the books on the computer desk and noticed it’s been awhile since you last dusted, the drawer full of pens, posted notes, scrap paper and “I’m not sure where it should go” stuff looks like a tornado hit it. You pick up a pen and scrap paper only to realize the pen does not work, pick up another pen and two sentences later the ink runs out. So you are thinking this is too much what’s for dinner. Your mind becomes as clutter as your environment. Clean it and organize it.
